  • Aspire auto brake swap to manual festiva

    Sorry if this is on here already but i coulnt find it. Im not to good with these forum things yet. I was wondering if the automatic aspire brakes will work on the manual festiva. im getting a automatic aspire for $300 and it only has 64,000 miles on it. i need a new motor for the festy i have for turbo and was hoping the brake swap will work. any info will help. thanks everybody

      thank you i have saw alot of things that the auto aspires are diffrent then the manual ones and i just wanted to know thank you

        I believe they are a little thicker and heavier....You just have to make sure to get the right brake pads

          The only difference between Aspire manual and auto brakes are in the front:

          -thicker brake rotors for ATX
          -different caliper mounts (to match the corresponding larger rotor size)

          The actual bare calipers should be the same; they just use different size mounts between MTX and ATX.

          Since you're using parts from one donor car you shouldn't have a problem. If you buy new rotors, make sure they are for the ATX Aspire. If you turn in cores for rebuilt Aspire calipers, make sure they are for the ATX Aspire.

          One hint: you can use (usually cheaper) '91 to '95 Escort tie rod ends for your swap instead of the (usually more expensive) Aspire ends.
