mazda 121 db same as aspire?

i jut took a quick look an a mazda 121 (db modell)



and its rear axle looks like the one i saw on pics of the aspire.
it got 13" wheels stock and it got 4x100 bolt pattern.

could it be that it got the same rear axle and the brake setup as the ford aspire?

i ask this question cause i need a donor car for brake and maybe suspension of my mazda 121 da(same as ford aspire)

was thinking bout the 323 (bg called protege i guess in usa). but somewhere here i read the front hubs wont fit.

plus the aspire rears stuff would be an upgrade too.

ford aspires have never been available here in austria. thats why i have to bother you with all that questions.

Hi Martin. That Mazda 121 is the Demio, which I think began a totally different car design in 1990 from the earlier 121.

It's possible that it has the same rear axle as an Aspire, but I doubt it. Since that car was not imported here, I would have no idea for sure.

is there some casting marks or other things i could check?

I can't look right now but I think the Aspire rear drum has "201mm" cast into it as a minimum diameter.

I can check for sure later if someone else doesn't confirm or unconfirm that. However, just because the rear drum might be the same size, or even the same unit, would not necessarily mean the whole axle would bolt up to an earlier 121.
