  • Rubber thing between top of spring and Tophat?

    Hey guys,

Simple question: There's a rubber grommet thing between the top of the spring and the top hat of the front suspension, is that suppose to be there? I was trying to put the Capri knuckles w/ Aspire LCAs on and where the LCA mounts to the fram seems really far away, like I have a front lift on my car.

Are you using Festiva axles or Aspire?

I'm gonna be G25MR and B6T swapped how the hell am I suppose to use the Festiva axles!?!?

Obviously some people here don't know whats required to do for the Capri swap?

All I wanted to know is is there suppose to be a grommet thing between the top of the spring and the top hat. Festyboy pretty much answered that for me already earlier.

If you guys dont understand why I have Aspire LCAs and why I can't use the Festiva LCAs with Capri knuckles, here's the brake swap thread: http://www.fordfestiva.com/forums/sh...t=capri+brakes

You use aspire LCA's when doing the capri swap, not festiva LCA's.

As far as the rubber thing between the top of the spring and tophat, yes it's supposed to be there.

                  It's the rubber isolator thingie.

I suppose you could get rid of it. I've thought of maybe using some kind of pickup bed liner or spray on rubbery type material for a thinner coat of rubber-cushiness to reduce noise and harshness.
