  • Capri rear brake/IRS swap?

I've read about the EGT rear brake swap, but has anyone done Capri rears?

I would do an Aspire rear swap, but I have Capri fronts, and dont really want two bolt patterns. Maybe in the future if I can find wheels with dual lugs.

I just want better rear brakes and a functional parking brake and keep the stock bolt pattern... is it possible?

It was talked about on here. I'd search to find it.

Been searching, only found stuff for the EGT swap. Nothing specific on that one anyway...

Whatever was discussed on it was probably on one of the "old boards" that I'm too young to remember.

The Capri and Escort rear suspension are almost identical. The biggest difference is the wheel bolt pattern. I have an EGT rear set up here at the lab and have been toying with the idea. If you install this set up please document it.

I have the Capri rear brakes sitting in my garage. As soon as i have the Festiva done and have driven it some I'm wanting to convert the rear to the Capri rear brakes. My friend should be able to machine me a bracket to make them work, I'm not sure what I'd have to do with the e-brake cable. We will see in due time. If the brackets work I'll see if I can get several made so I can sell them on here.

There was a bracket in the archives for egt brakes. He just didn't want to sell death on a stick before he could test it. Haven't heard anything for years.

                Chris, I'd be interested.

Pretty much the exact same searches I have done.

So I wonder, does the capri spindle bolt to the festiva or aspire beam? Or do you use a different spindle?
