when doing this procedure, does one have to swap out the stock festy MC and Booster for the aspire ones? or can one keep said festiva master cylinder and booster and just replace the brake drum/discs? also would this require all aspire brake lines?

You do not need the Mc or booster, but you can choose to use them if you like a stiff brake pedal

sounds like you need a little research... there is a wrietup somewhere. You need the entire rear beam including lines and all attached brake hardware, the whole knuckle w/ rubber lines and the outer tierod end (outer rod ends from an escort will work as well).
the MC/booster are optional. I would recomend doing the MC if you can, the booster just seems like over-kill to me. The brakes feel much better w/ the aspire MC instead of the festy one.~Nate

Here's a pretty good walk through on doing the swap. Will be doing this myself in the fairly near future. Probably will not swap MCs tho.
