  • lowering springs

Ok seen that some guys are running rio struts. Well i was thinking about running rio lowering springs on aspire struts, but would the rears fit? Because i found a kit for all four corners and it is very cheap. Any one know if they would work on the rears. Also how tall are the stock rio springs?

The back end of a Rio is quite different. I'm not sure the rear springs will work.

Rio springs are taller. Lowering springs for them might only give you stock ride height.

Yeah i was thinking that, but thought i could get them since they are really cheap and are zenn brand. I don't know if they are good brand but seen allot of col bolts running them and some mustangs. Are the springs like bigger diameter than the aspire?
I'm ok with stock height just want them to look nice and the stock ones are not very nice.

I thought about Kia Rio lowering springs, too. For under $100 for all four (can't remember exact amount, but could be less than 80), you shouldn't mind not using the rears.

I doubt very much Rio rear springs would work. VERY different rear end.

I haven't done it yet, but I'm 99% sure Rio front springs will fit Festiva and Aspire front struts. I have them but I just haven't taken them apart and tried. Look at my pics in one of the other Rio suspension or brake threads here. Side by side comparisons.

FWIW, you may only want the front lowering Rio springs anyway.
On Big Blue I only run the front FMS lowering springs, gives me the handling I want and a slight "down hill" rake to the car, but with the regular springs in the back my load capacity, such as it is, is not encumbered by the lower springs.
Meaning, I can put an engine, transmission, and various other heavy parts in the back and not worry about bottoming out.

Yeah i am not going to lower the car since i do carry allot of heavy stuff in the car.
Also i like the car to be level looks nicer to me.

gerard, what model are those springs? I looked in the B+G website and they don't have anything for a ford festiva or kia pride.
