  • Freshend up my wheels

When I got my '90 LX it was missing a center cap and only had one trim ring which had curb rash on it. But I got a center cap awhile back from my old '89 and I finally got a set of trim rings(Thanks festyxfi) and I hand polished the rings and the center caps. Then I got some Silver Dupli-Color High Performance Wheel Coating and hand sanded the wheels and painted them.

Thanks. My arms are very sore right now from all the polishing and sanding, it was definitely a job.

I will give you a couple days to rest and get here... I'm not insisting you do it today...

What makes it a lot easier is a steel brush on a drill to sand them, thats what I did when I painted my rims black, but I agree, this is something everyone should do, makes a car look soo much better.

You and me both. I'm just going to wait a couple more days for my wheel covers to come in. Problem solved.

110% agree on the steel brush on the drill thing. That's how I prepped Batstiva's steelies before they became covered in yellow paint.

To the OP, those look amazing. Nice job.

I need to clean my rims as well. What did you use to polish up the center caps?

I used Meguiar's Mag & Aluminum Polish on the center caps and trim rings.

I would of liked to of gotten them sandblasted but I wanted to keep the cost down, but $10 a wheel isn't that bad.
