  • Brake pad hardware on aspire brake swap.

Well today I am swapping back to the aspire calipers from the protege calipers and I went out and bought the brake hardware kit that has new pins and clips. My problem is im not sure how the seperation clips are installed. I have tried to install them all kinds of diffrent ways and I am totally stumped. Anyone have any Ideas? thanks alot- ben

If you go to autozone.com and become a member you can view the online "repair guide" for the aspire. It is what I used. And best part is that its free.

At least on the 323, the separation spring slides on like a W from the front, with the middle of the W on top of the pin, going to rest under the second pin. Then the two tips of the W go into the holes of the brake pads.

Thats like the stock festy setup isnt it? It might be possible that I bought the kit for a festy. I dont remember?

I can't comment on that. Unfortunately I've only got experience on a 323 and figured it'd be closer to a protege/aspire.
