  • Rear disc-brake swap?

The link for the rear disc-brake swap write-up is dead. I tried searching to no avail. Anybody still do this/ have a backup?

Also- will these rims in the 4x100mm bolt pattern and these tires fit together (for aspire-swapped, of course.)

I still remember that one; pretty simple really. Machine down the drum until you end up with just the face and bearing housing, put in wheel studs, and a bracket plate for the caliper, sandwiched between the spindle and the axle. The calipers were from an Escort GT and so were the discs, which fit over the machined drums. The drums have to be from an Aspire so that the bolt pattern can match the one from the escort discs.
The left lane? Are you crazy!!! I never drive in the left lane...It's full of freaks driving the wrong way and charging right at you!!!

Would this mod still support the rims posted above? Same aspire bolt-pattern?

No tires on that page seems to be 14".

I have 14x6 rims with 185/60x14 tires on them, and the Aspire rear struts so that there are no clearance issues, and no need for spacers. But that's with the Festy rear beam, which AFAIK is the same width as the Aspire one.

Anybody know if they'll fit? I'm dead-set on getting that combo if they do.

If you are referring to 195/45/14 in tires, then yes they fit great even if your car is lowered. I have them on my car.

I'm not sure the 38mm offset will be high enough with the added spacing of the rotor on top of the original bolting surface, plus the additional thickness of the plate for the caliber brackets.

it'll clear the strut and swing arm, no worries, just has to clear the caliper.
