I found a list of all the 21 shims for the bearings on a Festiva front and rear spindle. They were listed as going on a 2000 something Mazda. I can not find it again. If anyone has the list please forward it. My Festiva has had a shimmy at 60 to 70 for a long time. I have replaced everything on the front end and have the factory tool to test the drag but do not know where to get the shims.

They are available from Kia still. I ordered all 21 and ended up using an 8 and 9 with my spare spindles. Bought a precision dial torque wrench from sears and set it all up in the middle of the sweet rotating torque zone. To bad I still have an intermittant shimmy. Either the new FoMoCo rack I put in back in 2004 had a defect in the pass side rack gear bushing or driving it with no bearing preload for 30000 miles wore it out. Any one have a source for replacement bushings?Last edited by Aspire SVT; 05-21-2011, 05:00 PM.Tim

why doesn't anyone ever suspect the tires? i don't care if you had them ballanced a billion times, if the dude balancing the tires is a moron, you're still gonna have a shimmy.Trees aren't kind to me...

^ that may get you by but the slight differences in the bearings themselves may cause there to be a difference in preload. I replaced my bearings with timken matched sets using the old spacers the bearings must have been slightly different tolerances because after driving a bit the wheel had a slight play in it when checked on a lift after the new grease had settled. Didn't hurt anything as it was slight. Drove it for about 5 years and the bearings didnt gall.Tim
