Evidently, the return of Falken 175/60-13s!! They are called "Ziex ZE-912" now.

On the downside, the Marangonis seem to have disappeared from the 185/55-14 size. (Not that I know how good they really were supposed to be.)

Next paycheck I think I'll be in for some 195/45-14 Falkens to go on my Miata seven spokes. And if I ever get a set of Honda VX 13 X 5" wheels (9.5 pounds!) I think I'll put some 175/50s on them, for a really lightweight, small diameter (quick acceleration) choice with nice grip.

Let's hope these sizes stay around a while!

I've been happy with 185/60 ZE-912s I've run in the past. I like the idea of a 175/60 or 165/65 13" though.

Htchbck, how long have the ZE 912s been out? The older ones were 512s. I thought the 912 is the latest design which just came out.

FYI, I see my link to the 175/60-13 above was another one to the 175/50. My mistake. Just type in the correct size and you'll get there. Plus, for some reason my first link doesn't work at all. Don't know what happened there.

hmmm... I think I got my first set when I still had the red brick car, which would mean at least a year and a half. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure I remember them being 912s. I don't remember ever having any 512s. The ones I got were on sale about the same price as the house brand tires so I picked them. Only got 2 though since thats all they had in stock. Was planning on replacing the other two within a couple thousand miles but the poor car only made it a couple hundred more before my buddy killed it lol. I've run them on my Miata as well since then... bought those last fall, probably around october, I know they were 912s. I wanted the Yoko Avids, but they weren't in stock, and it was going to be 3-4 days to get them in. I loved the 185/60R14 Avids on my Miata.

I just hope the offerings remain stable for more than a couple years. This winter I got a nail in one of my Nokian Ws and went in to the tire shop for a replacement (it wasn't centered so it couldn't be plugged) and they told me Nokian no longer made my tire in my size (175/70-13).

So next winter I'll keep two of my Ws (all season severe weather snow tires) on back and buy two dedicated snows for Lux's front. Then next summer I'll probably get two dedicated summer tires for the front to run with the Ws on back during warm weather.

It's just so stupid though. I wanted 165/70 Nokian Ws to begin with, but they couldn't get those. At least I figured the 175/70 would stick around. Nope!

Its too bad we don't have any rich members who could just buy us up a good stock (couple hundred) and hold them in reserve to sell to people as needed. Oh well, lol, at least 175/70R13s should be around in various brands for a while yet, even though I don't like them much.

Tire Trends carries the Falken 912's but doesn't list the 175-60-13. I'm going to ask them if they can get the "right" size.

Two sizes I'd really like would be 185/55-13 or 185/50-14. The first size is available on ebay, but only two of them (different brands), and who knows how old they are!

I've got falken 912's on my festiva, 185/60-14 size. They're a nice tire. Especially at 60 bucks a piece

I've ordered twice from Tires-easy and I was pleased both times (a pair of 165/70-12 Nankangs and a full set of the Falkens in 175/60-13 for my Estrellas).

Someone else did not have a good experience though, so "buyer beware."
