The asterisks mark values I calculated. The rest I got from the Nankang Tire Company website. That's also where some of the weird sizes come from. And no, they probably aren't imported very often, if at all.
Keep in mind these are merely estimates and that other companies may have slightly different specs on their sizing. Values should be accurate to within maybe 3 or 4 mm.
My choices for the best performance sizes which will minimize speedo error and also tend to fit better would be...
12" No contest. The 165/70 was made for this and was a factory option.
13" Several possibilities here. The 175/60 is perfect, while the same companies often make a 185/60 which only raises the car 7mm, which is about the same amount the common replacement 155-12s raise it. If you look you could get a set of 165/65s, but these cost more with little benefit.
I chose a set of 165/70s, which when I install my Aspire ATX, will bring my speedo back to the real world again.
14" Hands down the best size here is 195/45, which actually lowers the car by 3mm. Insignificant, really. The width should not pose a problem unless you really lower the car or use a strange offset.
I don't think anyone makes a 195/50 in 14" size.
Nankang makes a 185/55-14 which might do well--if you can get it.
The 175/60 is another size you might be able to get if you hunt well.
15" Here we have the 195/45 as the best relatively common choice, raising the car only a centimeter.
I think Nankang makes a 185/45-15, which would only add 5mm to the ride height, but probably takes a special incantation to get imported.
