  • Anybody using 195/55 R15's?

I have an opportunity to get a set, was wondering if any had used this size, with or without mods.

I have a full aspire swap with UNCUT springs and struts from the same car, and I just installed mine today. Slight rubbing in the rear when cornering hard but no rubbing any other time, quite close thou!
1992 white L, Bp, American racing 13's, stock trans.
1991 White L, BP/F5MR, protege header, full aspire swap with gr2's, seats, and sway bar, 15" konig's, short throw, escort console.
    1991 blue L, 5 speed.
    1988 red L-plus-all stock.

One problem with 195/55 would be the speedo. Mine's approx 5% out on 195/50 rubber so just be aware it'll be even further out on 55 profile. And as 91mcnasty said they'd get pretty close to the strut perch, mine is already quite close with 50 profile. Other than that, should be fine and if the price is right I'd say go for it.

What about spacers in the back? And a slight fender roll? Think that would cure the issue?

Just a good fender roll will fix the problem. Been through this a few times myself. I have used 50's and 55's.

My fenders don't come close to rubbing. Just the spring perch.

              Grind the perch down alittle.

i wondered this also. I'm gonna have to swap to 14's since sumitomo discontinued the 150/50/r13 tire size. I'm moving up to 225 50 14 on front and 185 60 14's on the rear.

I planned on it. Was just letting him know the issue.

                    I have 195 55 15's on my festi. I'm using mx3 15x6 rims, and 15mm rear spacers. Its tight,but I'm lowered 2" in front and 1.5 in rear.
