Just got my strut mounting kit. See what I see?:

They DO come with bearings! Ha! The Advance email entity lied, but I LIKE this lie!

Early Kia Rio front strut mounts AND bearings, for exactly $21.60 each, with free shipping, because my order was over $100. Now I await my Autometer Phantom oil pressure gauge...at around 20% off. Then I get my $50 coupon for my next order of over $100, which will be...two more Phantom gauges. I like these deals!

Now boys and girls, go price Festiva/Aspire front strut mounts with their cheesy flat little plastic washer bearings! Ha ha ha ha!

Sorry if I seem like bragging. Just kinda happy.

    Karl

PS: Same part at Rockauto was $22.99, but shipping a pair adds another $8.46. Folks, this just goes to show you that it can really pay to "shop around." Advance has had some good deals lately, but I'm sure there are other companies that have good offers too. Shop around, and make sure you're getting what you really NEED or what you really really WANT! Otherwise, it's just wasting money. (My other stuff from Advance was wheel paint, quality oil filters, those A-M gauges I really wanted and a couple other things, so I wasn't just spending cash for nothing.)

Gorgeous - thanks for sharing Karl. In all honesty though, if I'm going to bother swapping out my strut mounts any time soon, I'll be upgrading to WRX camber plates instead.

          All in good time, Roller!

As for the WRX camber plates, I'm waiting till I get my NASA clean room facilities for dust free assembly with magic sparkling wonder grease. :p Until then, it's "junkyard chic" with some new parts thrown in at low cost.

Thank you for verifying this Karl!! When I looked online at Advance's site I didn't see anything about the roller bearings but I could see them in the pic of the part. I was planning on going by the store and having my buddy pull one off the shelf for me to look at but when I checked their inventory they didn't have any in stock. Now I can order with confidence

Will those work with the festy or aspire struts or do you have to use the rio struts?

                            Pretty struts!! Nice, Postman.

Golf Mk. II, right? And the same on the rear?

I'll probably stick with Rio hybrid fronts, but I'm looking for a better rear setup and I think Golf Mk. IIs may be in order. Perhaps with an adjustable shock and coil overs.

Same on the rear is right they don't take much to put on and there is a good selection of mkII stuff out there.

I'm thinking coil overs with Golf Mk 2 Koni adjustables for the rear. I figure having adjustment at the rear may help set the whole car up with the right front end parts.

As for my '04 struts, I'll probably borrow some strut compressors tomorrow and get to them this weekend.

Ah, just got me Phantom oil pressure gauge delivered!
