  • Will they fit?

I'm building a festiva for autocross use and I'm currently pondering wheels and tires. I have found that a 215/50/13 is very close to the same diameter as the stock 12's but I don't know if they will fit under the car. Does anyone have experience with this sort of fitment?

Why not go up in diameter? That way you aren't constantly shifting from 2-3.

      Would a 185/60/14 be a better match? It's almost 3" taller...

185/60 is a decent street tire. Horrible for autox though. You want a wide tire with a short sidewall.

That's why I was looking at the 215/50/13

Discuss improvements to your Festiva or Aspire in the handling, braking, wheels and tires areas.

Ok for the remainder of this season I'll run Nissan 13x5.5 wheels with 185/60/13 tires next season I'll have the aspire brakes and probably 14 or 15" wheels

                        Hmm

How do they do as far as fender clearance?

My better half put one stipulation on this build... No spare wheels. That means I have to drive on my race tires. The plus side is this car isn't going to be a daily driver so I won't be commuting with it.

I autocrossed a festiva for many many years,

13" tires are the fastest, as wide as possible is the best for a festiva.

Order some 13x8 rotas on ebay and run those with some toyo ra1's, they are not as good as the v710's but last wayy longer.

Again the car will be on race rubber for the street too so 13x8s might not work.
