  • Fiesta suspension parts on Festiva?

Looking at Pocket Rocket's thread on bushings, there is this link showing the front suspension from a Ford Fiesta.
    http://blogs.insideline.com/straight...alkaround.html

Some parts look like they could fit on the Festiva's we all own.
Like maybe the front struts, tie-rod ends, and what about the possibly of swap's? Brakes or the front knuckle assembly?
I was curious if someone had looked into this, or knew about what might fit, if anything at all.
If somethings fit, well, that would be another source for parts for our cars, and new ones at that.

I doubt the front strut will fit. I bet it's a three or most likely, a four bolt strut mount. Look at the size of the lower front spring perch and compare it with ours. Looks larger to me.

There is the possibility of some nuts and bolts fitting. Maybe some crossover with some Escort or Focus parts. Again, little stuff like tie rod ends.

The rear brake drum looks to be the same diameter as the Aspire. Perhaps some possibility of swapping brake backing plates and drums? I don't know and that would be helpful mainly for those looking for rear disc conversions. Somehow I doubt it will be that easy.

There is some similarity of design, but I don't see a lot of similarity of actual fitment. Just remember, with enough money and tools and time, you can make all kinds of stuff "fit."

I've never really seen many new cars workings, so maybe I'm out of it now, but it seems weird that they have moved the sway bar up into the frame. And why the stilts connecting it to the struts?

Nice that they stuck to simplicity with the beam rear instead of going complicated with IRS and adding another sway in back.

      Interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Any difference that makes no difference is no difference.
