  • heating springs / stretching springs

i know this is a dumb question but here it goes. heating springs will weaken them correct? so could you take a set of springs (coilovers) that are a higher spring rate, heat them and stretch them out alittle? just a thought

Heating the springs weakens them, and stretching them out would cause irregularities in size, spring rate, and even the way they sit in the perches.

Not a dumb question. Glad you asked. DON'T DO IT! It changes the steel's molecular structure. Just get the correct rate springs.
