someone posted that they just removed their springs to lower their festy but they didnt say if they had coilovers or stock struts so my question is can i remove the springs from my struts or is that only posible with coilovers? everything in my festarossa is stock except for the paint on my 12" rims. i know it will be a rough ride but i can deal with that. once the springs are out can i still carry passengers? will i need an imediate alignment?

Yes you can remove the springs, but will drag on everything, and it will NOT be safe.
No you should carry passengers if you remove the springs (safety of them is in your hands)
I would not recommend removing the springs......cutting them, maybe.
Any time you raise or lower anything, you should have an alignment done.-Greg

could i get my festarossa to look as low as gestiva's (#8 reply to So i lowered the Matchbox in photo gallery page 15)by cutting my stock strut springs instead of removing them? i want to keep my stock rims for now but with it slammed like gestiva's. i think that the festy looks soooo good when its lowered with stock wheels like gestiva's. he never said if he had coilovers or stock struts but he said it ran like that for a year without tire issues. he wont reply to any of my questions but maybe im not sending them correctly.

ok so after breading ejp2fast's post about how much to cut from front and rear then reading the EvilD's "so i lowered the matchbox"s" problems i became confused do i cut 3" off front then 2.5" from rear or 3" from rear and 2.5 from front? im actually cutting them 1/2" shorter like EvilD but i want to to it right

Do like Drdan says in his post on your other topic about this exact same thing...
Cut a coil, put them back on and see how you like it. If it's not low enough cut another coil, etc. etc.
Edit: Believe I had 2 coils cut out at all 4 corners when I lowered mine the first time....
Edit again: I had the FRONT cut 2 coils and the REAR cut 1 1/2 coils. Hope that helps you some!

I think he saw the youtube video (can't find it anymore) that somebody (probably a FF member) made called "how to ghetto slam your ride" or something like that. In the video he said "Start with a pimpin' car" (pic of his festy), "Get rid of these useless things" (pic of all 4 springs) "You're done" (pic of festy sitting on its wheels).1990 White L-Plus 5-speed rust-machine
