I think what he means is, you should go and do some reading before you ask questions like that. Im not trying to put you down but it's the equivalent of asking can i remove the wings off my plane and still fly it. The internet is an amazing resource.

Sorry mate, but the only one that sounds stupid in this thread is you. Asking if you can remove a major component of your car and still drive it.
Now perhaps you know nothing about cars, and asking questions is the only way to learn. And now......you've learned.

How about some helpful advise? Take the struts out and measure the length from the perch to the hat at full shock extension. Then cut the spring to have at least that length so that when the strut is assembled, the spring will never get unseated, even at full shock extension. This is the shortest you can safely cut the springs. However, check fastivaB6TG25MR's front strut mod to go a couple inches lower.Oscar

thank you perucho. the only reason i asked that dumb of a question is (if you read the post i was talking about for the 5th time) (hint, hint, go read it before you treat people like they are stupid for asking questions) because in that post a member named gestiva said he removed his springs completely and drove his festy for a year without any tire issues. 2nd your mamma was a honda. dont insult my intelligence. im not one of those spoiled little turds that buy and hop up their hondas with loud mufflers with actually make them slower than a yugo. i am no honda punk. and it sounds like people like you who insult people for asking questions should be banned. and go sell your festiva

so is it ok if i ask another question without being insulted? just because you dont like the question? do you cut more from the rear springs or more from the front springs to achieve a level stance to my festarossa? i wouldnt mind if the front was slightly lower but less than a 1" difference.

More from the rear. It makes sense when you think about it... the front springs are bearing the weight of an engine, transmission, radiator, brake booster, steering rack, etc. The back is bearing the weight of 1/2 the chassis and a rear seat. The springs will compress less this way, and thus, should be shorter.
Edit- It is best to cut full coils so it aligns the same way, but you can twist the perches if needed.Last edited by Basement_Modder; 09-04-2011, 12:34 PM.1990 White L-Plus 5-speed rust-machine

Only about 1/3rd of the weight of the car is in the back.
Cutting springs is okay but not that great to lower. Removing springs is suicide. Whoever suggested that should be shot.
If you cut the spring heat the top coil after cutting and bend it down so its flat, so it sits right in the perch. Dont heat any other part of the spring.
I wouldnt cut more than 1.5 to 2 coils out of stock springs...theyre just too soft. Youll bottom out.91GL BP/F3A with boost
