I stand with Simon being the First to bag a Festy, its cute/nice to say you have but it can be a pain. I usually ran the bags about "down 20-30" pounds and she rides somewhat smooth, but man it can be bumpy at times. Not only does it doggy, but once in a while in turn front end can bounce a little and you get some traction loss.
Its great to say you have bags but they have their share of probs, I have competition fast valves and they leak once in a while, they use trumpet style valves an they dont always seal best. You also get issues with fittings, they do leak too. I teflon tapped the crap outa my set up but still get leaks, I'm going to have the mechanic who is doing my engine also build me custom valves that won't leak, they will be similiar to aircraft valves.
If you like to have fun go for it, they are a bit costly however, my set up costed me 2100!!!! And I installed!! expensive.
They Festy is a light car, so you will get some bounce when the car is locked up in pancake up, I can get almost all 4 tires off the ground at "shifts of pavement" where there is a little "lip"
Im going to modify my setup, for smoother ride, but with new power Im going to have I don't know what will happen. Being unique is great, but airbags/rods have their downfalls. I don't know if I would reccommend them, but they can be fun to have and trip folks out when you see saw or side to side. You can get so low too, I once dragged a Circle K "Big Gulp" cup under the car when I accidently drove over it. I even drove over a sneaker once and it tumbled when i bottomed out over it. So yes you can get pretty low. Aim Industries of Mesa, AZ designed my prototype, I estimate it would run you in the neighborhood of about 2200 depending on valves and compressor.
I plan to be able to hop mine soon, its an everyday driver, but think about it before you just go purchase some. The set up bolts right in, atleast mine did with no cutting.
Message me anytime and hit me up regarding this topic here or VIA "PM" my car has been bagged/rods for about 6 yrs now.
Keep us posted on your plans.
