  • Has anybody install a rear strut brace

As the topic states, i would like to stiffen up my chassis and prob remove the back seat. Which location at the back would be the best suited to install this strut brace? also anybody did the underneat for the front?

For a rear brace, it all depends on whether or not you want your plastic trim and/ or seat to remain. If the answer is no, just get a steel bar , cut it to length, hammer the ends flat, and weld it to the strut towers wherever you see fit. (Middle-edge is best)

This position will need adjustment if you have a backseat, as it will hit the said bar. You could move it back to the walls behind the strut towers, which would still work but not quite as noticeably. (as it would still allow some flex at the strut towers.

The best way is the first option, with added triangulation from the center of the bar down to each corner where the strut towers meet the floor. I plan on doing that in my car sometime in the next month.

As for front lower, do what Aaron did.

Edit- or do what Maxtiva said... started typing before that post was there haha.

it works with the seat, connects to the shock tops in the back between the two strut nuts.

Here's my rear strut bar. The mounts are welded in above the rear strut towers. it comes off pretty easy for hauling stuff inside the car.
