Tire Help Please

Hello everyone! After a long hiatus of finding a job....then working my arse off at my new job I have been checking out this site again . I purchased these rims quite awhile ago but lost my job shortly after so really didn't have the money to afford new tires and I can find 12in tires cheap (like $50 each new and installed). But now I am looking to finally get these bad boys out of my closet and install them for summer. Now my problem is I am no tire specialist and don't know what is the lowest and narrowest (clearance issues) tire I could fit on these rims. I have searched countless posts trying to find some info if I am going to have problems (already think I will) but I really didn't see anyone running rims this wide with a 30+ offset on a stock Festiva. Below are some pics of my mock up earlier today and the wheel info. The major problem that I could see by putting them on the back was that is was insanely close to the springs. Their +30mm offset should help with the inside clearance. To be safe, get some Aspire spec rear struts or make some coil overs with slim springs.

The main area I see as a problem would be your fender lips. You may have to roll them. Don't ask me how since I've never done it.

195/45-14s would be about as high as stock tires and slightly shorter than the usual replacement 155/80-12s. However, they are pricey and don't usually have a long tread life. (If you can find the Falkens in that size the tread life may be better.)

Thanks safety guy! The first link seems to be right up my alley. I will wait and see if anyone else posts today and more that likely order them tomorrow. When I came across these rims it was just too good of a deal and had to buy them. The one shown is the only one that has been out of the box, and they were less than $100! drool

That does sound like a good deal for new-ish rims.

I really liked the feel of my 175/60-13 Falkens when I had them on my front last fall. I'm getting ready to put them back on, along with the rears, if I get less lazy.

Also check out the 165/60 and 165/55 choices in 14". You may like them more and they should give better fuel economy. I know Arty is running one of those sizes in the Federal brand and he seems to like them.

^ yup! i run the 165/60s. since seeing the 195/45s on sale, i may have to jump on a set of those as well, thanks for the link Karl.

Edit:Thanks alot guys I had been looking all morning trying to find a decent tire that would be close to fitting I just don't understand all the tire hoopla.

I went with the Falkens. I had a custom wheel calculator and it seemed to be the best match of the ones listed. In the future I will try on of the other sizes. I was a little worries those narrower tires would be a little to skinny on the 6in rim. Here is the calculator I was using.
