  • Tire size delema here

Ok here goes 165-60-14 tires everyone keeps telling me this is the hot ticket , but in my quest to find these locally i am hit no luck , but i have located 175-65-14 tires a ton of them without a problem everyone says the 185-6014s rub and you have to change stuff i dont wanna mod anything , so heres my question can i use the 175-65-14 size tire without rubbing and stuff ? The 165-60-14 is 21.8 in tall.
The 175-65-14 is 22.9 in tall.
The guy at the store told me the 175-65-14 is also a half inch wider than the 165-60-14
Ill be so happy when i figure out this crap i have two sets of mazada rims i got the second set today im dying to buy tires just dont wanna buy something that will rub fenders and crap help lmao

    1) try tirerack.com (or similar for size you want)
    2) you will have rub issues with the 175/65/14 tires. too tall. that middle number (60-65) get it down to 50-55 and all will be good

In case you didnt have info on tires: The 1st number is the width of a tire in millimeters, the 2nd number is the height of a tire, in percentage of the width (175/60/14= 175 millimeters wide = 6.88 inches wide, height is 60 percent of that width = 4.133 inches high) and 3rd is that last number, which you prolly already know is the rim size.

Not sure whats available without going to tirerack or whatever, but for an example, if you got..say, a 175/50/14

width is same but the height now would be 3.44 tall, instead of the 4.13 inches, thus lowering the tire diameter about 1 3/8 inches.
height is from the wheel/rim edge to top of tire
