  • My new rims!!

What do you think everybody. Finally got a set for my car. And they were only $100. 2 tires are junk but thats ok. here is a picture.

And i know this was probably posted somwhere else but i was going to post a picture up anyways so what tire size do you think would be the best for my car. it is about as low as FMS springs would make it.

And what color should i paint them. my car is white now but i may change it to black one of these days. I was thinking Bronze or blue or lime green. lets hear some suggestions.

I would leave them the way they are! Those look great as-is :thumbright:

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

no doubt, I'm with him ^ those look great! I'd possibly consider blacking out the one spoke where the logo is, just for the whole gymkhana look lol.. but that's it.

i like them too but the one rim is curb rashed a bit and i was going to sand blast them to get them cleaned up and wasnt sure if they would look good a diffrent color. but maybe i will just try to clean them up by hand and see how it turns out.

You have fancy wheels! My rims and tires were from the wrecking yard. I just left them the way they were, because if they are too nice someone would steal/scratch/violate them. Or, think that there was something of value inside, and try and break in. It's not good to have a car that is too nice.

natural or paint. Those look good! Are they 100 by 114.3 ?

If you do paint them, just de grease them (castrol super clean or Zep purple degreaser work great and can be had at walmart or HD/Lowes) and rough the surface by wet sanding them with 240 grit wet/dry (meanwhile blending the curb rash). It's best to sand through the silver to the original primer which is usually a whitish color. This will be a very durable epoxy primer and is not cheap stuff so don't sand it off (it's also a PITA to bead blast off). It's hard to get a good durable finish on bare aluminum without a good epoxy primer, so why not reuse the stuff they already sprayed on there?
If you want a good cheap paint, my favorite is the Rust Oleum Professional "high performance enamel". It's available at home depot, but the colors are limited. If you put on a light coat, then let it tack (about 15 minutes) and follow up with a heavy coat (as heavy as you can without runs) and then let it dry for two days in the sun (you can bake them in the oven at 200 to quicken cure time). They will look better than powder coat and be just about as durable. This paint is tough as nails, but don't put any more coats on after it has dried, it will wrinkle.
                        Hope that helps.
