Slammed stiff suspension.

Hi all!
Glad to have been finally accepted here to the festiva forums!

We've got a '93 Festiva that we're using as a school project, and I need some input from those who have experience with the platform.

My goal is to have the lowest point of the car 1-2" off of the ground. The suspension will also need to be really stiff, as the car will need to carry more weight then the original design intended.

What are my options?
I'm thinking coilovers of some sort.

Suggestions for brands/spring rates?

That car looks awesome. If you want to "slam" it on the cheap and have a moderately stiffened suspesion, grab some Rokkors or Racelands for a MKII/MKIII VW.

Not sure what you mean by "droop" the springs.

It'll need to carry ~1200lbs (worst case) on top of how it sits now.

So in order to not bottom out with only 1-2" clearance, these are going to be STIFF springs.

That looks AWESOME. Is there anyway you can get more pics of that roll cage?? Like, where and how it is mounted/welded? I am puttin one in my car and some referance points would be great.

I bought a set of cheap coilovers and bought some KYB GR2s but haven't installed them yet. Mine is a project car as well and right now I am working some much (about 70-80 hours a week) that All I have time for right now is to buy all the parts and stuff that I need. No time to actually work on the car.

Yes, I can take some pics for you. We didn't put in the cage though, it was there when we bought the car.

Coilover Brands? Spring rates?

The car needs:

• 1-2" of ground clearance at the lowest point.
• Capacity to carry ~1200lbs on top of current weight.

I don't think you'll be able to get that low without cutting out the strut tops, raise them and weld them back in.
