  • Aspire Brake Booster

    Got a question. I,ve ask before & searched on here, but all I got was conflicting answers. Is it worthwhile/make a positive difference to put on an Aspire Brake Booster(not the Master Cylinder) on a Festy? Please some of you bilders, Euro , Kart, htchbck, Damkid, ect. give your oppenion.

      If you're only swapping boosters and you're leaving the hydraulic system alone, you're not changing any of the fundamental properties of your braking system (how much stopping power you get per inch of pedal travel). What you are changing by swapping boosters is how force on the pedal relates to pedal travel. As such, whether this mod is good or bad is entirely subjective, some like a stiffer pedal and some like a softer one. I say if you don't like the feel of your pedal give it a shot, if it's more to your liking leave it and if it feels worse you're only 6 nuts away from putting your stocker back on, or swapping to a different Fazda booster altogether.
      This statement assumes that the hydraulic components of your braking system are already the right ones for your application and in good shape. You won't get more stopping power unless you have a relatively weak right leg. Personally I would only play with boosters after upgrading the rest of the system, but like I said it won't hurt anything.

        The master will make a difference in braking , the booster only helps you pushing the pedal , this is its only purpose. So like he said , harder or softer pedal feel will be the only change , no actual braking gains.

          I've done one M/C replacement but never removed a booster or anything like that.

            Thanks. I've got new pads up front , new Shoes & wheel cylinders in back & a Escort MC. I like a stiffer pedal. Think i'll just leave the booster alone. thanks again for the honest answers with no B.S.
