  • FMS Lowering springs installed, now rear struts blew out.

Newer Gabriel struts worked well for about 500 mi. on stock springs. Installed FMS on Weds, less than 100mi. later the seal on the driver side has blown. Has this happened to anyone else?

I never had that problem. Mine were on for a while and never blew a strut. Maybe a falty strut?

I put the FMS springs on a set of Monroe GasMatic struts that had about 30k miles on them and have not had any issues. Honestly, I won't buy Gabriel struts or shocks. My brother worked at A-Zone for years and said most of them ended up coming back. He put a set of Gabriel's on his Crown Vic and his RAV-4, and in both cases the shot craps after only 6 months. Drop the cash on some GR-2's and you'll be happy!

I have GR2's on the front and I ordered new GR2's for the back tonight.

And Prafeston, have no fear. The lowered stance and stiffer springs make it corner so NIIIICCEE!
