Wheel stud install when hub is stripped.

First you need studs and lug nuts
Then you remove brake caliper and rotor. So you don't strip the 2 set screws in rotor use hammer and impact wrench.



Find a drill bit that you need and size up next to wheel stud to make sure it isn't bigger. And drill the hole out

Insert stud in hole. Use washer and lug nut and gently tighten. And take it slow so you don't snap the stud. And get it flush in the back.

I used a different stud on my wheels. I used an allen wrench to tighten the lug into the rotor and put Locktite on it so it doesn't moved and ran it down till it stopped. No drilling. You used full on studs. Mine look like all thread with a Allen wrench head on one side for tightening.

I've got those on both my cars and love 'em. But he's talking about a workaround when you have stripped-out or damaged threads. Just have to do it on the dameged hole, then use the screw-in ones on the rest.

they are stock thread pitch. dont know what kind i got them from oreilly's. it cost $24 @ oreilly's for the studs and lug nuts.

I would be afraid to use the lug nut to do that. If it mushrooms it'll tear up the seat in your alloy won't it?
