For bigger, heavier wheels, upgrade the brakes first (Aspire swap, 4x100), or you will degrade stopping distances. Is larger wheels about style or function?

Both, wheels have to look good but 10" have no traction.

I appreciate that advise. There are lots of posts about the swap, is it fairly simple?

I run 15x6 with 38mm offset and 165/45/15 tires on bone stock festiva. No rubbing and the braking and acceleration are much improved over stock (mostly due to more sidewall stability). this tire upgrade is a phenomenal improvement when it comes to handling and safety of the vehicle, there are no stock fitment 12" tires available in this country that are even close to the quality of the Federal Formoza165/45-15. They have a slightly smaller outside diameter than stock 12" tires and quality aluminum wheels are not necessarily heavier (tires often weigh more than wheels, therefore bigger wheel and less tire means lighter overall package.)
