  • What rate springs for Sleeve coilovers on GR2 Struts?

hi guys, im going to be putting a set of GR2 struts on my festiva, and im interested in a set of sleeve type coilovers, (i know they arent really coilovers, but i dont have $900 to shell out.)

Anyways, anyone know some kind of ball park spring rates that would match well with the GR-2 struts? i dont want to go too stiff or too soft, I dont want to blow the struts.

Also want some sort of halfway decent ride, I drive 65miles each way to work and would like to autocross/road race on the weekends.

    thanks!,

    adapting coilovers

rough ballpark i would say around 225 front and 175 rear for a good balance between comfort and still hauling ass in an autocross. using the stiffer rear will help counter under steer. but its just a guess. since gr2's are usually around 20-30% stiffer and stock springs are about 90lb/in (from the info I can find) one would hope the gr2 will hold up.
Nothing says "triumph of enthusiasm over physics" like a Front Wheel Drive race car.
