  • Capri Rims, how to fit them?

    Ok, I id a search but didnt find what I was looking for.

    We have a set of Capri rims we'd like to put on the Festy, a little heavier sadly but their a crap-ton larger than the stock Festy gear and they have tires with less than 1200 miles on them, pretty good tires to. At some point we'll be doing the Aspire suspension and brake upgrade, but for the moment its not in the works.

    Now, I looked on the offset and wheel into stuff and found this;

    1993-88 Ford- Festiva 12 x 4 40mm offset
    1994-91 Mercury- Capri 14 x 5.5 45mm offset (16 holes)

    Now, does this mean we need to get 5mm thick spacers made up? We fit the rims to the front of the car without any real problems, they tuck in pretty nicely, but the rear rims hit the suspension.

    Has anyone fit the Capri rims to a festy? How far did you space them out? any info would be great, thanks folks.

    Just stick them on and see. 5mm is less than a 1/4" so you may be ok. What size tires?

      the front fit on no problem but the rear you will need about a 1/4" spacer or around 10 mm for them to fit.... they are heavy as nuts though, thats one reason i didn't go with them.

      Every car I have owned has had a turbo in it, until I bought this latest festiva.. I plan to fix that though.
