  • Will 185/75r14 with a +46 offset fit a stock festiva?

I found a good deal on some 94 honda steel wheels with good tires but want to make sure they will fit before buying them.

They are 2865x108/75r14 and have a +46 offset. Will these fit without any mods or just some spacers or something?

    Thanks

There gonna be in the struts big time.
I'm running 185/60/14's on 38+ off set and the rub with a load or big bumps. But I rub on the quarter not the strut. But with 46 off set you will need spacers. I can hardly get my little finger between the tire and strut in the rear with 38 off set.

Honda wheels typically have a 4 x 100mm bolt pattern, while the festiva sports a much more unique 114.3 (4 1/2") span. Make sure you can bolt them on your car first. Check out the extensive list of 4 bolt rims posted on a sticky in this forum. I've been searching for months in the Denver area for 14s, and have decided to break down and put some geo metro wheels (13s)on for now just so I can buy some much needed new tires.

P155/80/R13 on 1989 Festiva L with stock rear suspension.

I'm no mechanic, but I think that's the biggest tire I can put on my car.

This may help with making choices about wheels/tires on the festy.

A 185/75/14 is gonna be kinda tall. I'm running 185/60/14 on mine with Miata wheels and they scrub a little.

Some Hondas do have a 4x114.3 bolt pattern.

185/60R14 or 175/65R14 is about all you can cram under a Festiva without at least some mods to the fenders. The 185s sit very close to the spring perches even with a +38 or +40 offest, so a +46 is going to be really tight as it sits even further in toward the middle of the car. I'm assuming from the tire size that is currently on them that these 14s are from an Accord? At the very least you will need smaller tires than the 185/75, and possibly some spacers in the rear as well. The good news is that if they are from a 4 lug Accord, you at least have the right bolt pattern
            No festiva for me ATM...

Would the 185/75r14 with a +46 offset work with say a 10-15mm spacer? or would I then be rubbing on the fender?

I just don't have access to the parts to give these options a try until I buy them and that is currently not an option as I'm tight on funds right now.

Anyone with personal experience with this size any help would be appreciated.

              Thanks

Kracker, unless you can fit them before buying, I'd seriously skip that deal. Those tires are extremely tall even with a proper offset wheel (like a 38 or 40mm). They will also be really heavy, slowing you down with both excess weight AND height.

Imagine being tasked with running a 5K, and you're not a runner. You're asked if you'd like to wear heavy boots or high heels. "Both!" you answer, "I'll wear heavy high heel boots!" Yup, kinda like that.

Mind you, I'm not saying you can't make them work. But unless someone is running a tire that size, I doubt anyone can say what you'll need for sure.

I'm running 175/70-13s on +38mm offset wheels. The left side will rub the fender on bumps.

                  Thanks for the input guys.

I know several sizes have been mentioned above but I need to go with something I can get a good used deal on.

Would 195/60r14 work out with the same +46 offset either with or without just adding spacers? I don't have the cash right now to change out struts and stuff.

                  Thanks,
                  Blaine

185/60-14 required rear spacers for me. They were either 6mm or 1/4".

How much space do you have between the tire and the fender then? I wander if I did a 1/2" spacer if I would be good.

Wish I still had them to check for you, but they were bald and I "upgraded" to 185/60-13 instead.

Kracker, keep an eye out for Metro wheels with either 155/80-13s or 175/70-13s. They shouldn't cost that much if you get a good deal and the tires are a more common size.

Yeah, I've been on the look out for some geo metro wheels but have not ran across any so far. Actually I did find 1 set just a couple days ago, but the guy wanted $250 with bad tires.

On the 195/60R14 they come with rims with almost brand new tires, they guy said he will take $30 for them, but they do me no good if I cannot get them to work!

That's a great deal for those 195/60s! You could offer him five bucks or so (or buy him lunch) if you could try on two at a time to see how they do. Take a good floor jack and tools and you should be able to see how it rolls on that rubber. If it works, then pay him the full thirty dollars. I'd try the rears first, since that's probably the worst problem area.

The guy who wanted $250 for the Metro rims. Wow. Was he some Wall Street Banker?
