My festiva hums when going in a straight line and turning right. but when i turn the wheel to the left it stops. It gets louder with speed. I've replaced the pass. side CV axle, fixing to replace drivers side. I know its not them humming but the boots are torn and they pop. It's probably alignment but better safe than sorry...

I would bet you are talking about a bad wheel bearing.. I noticed when one of mine went bad, turning one direction can lessen the noise but the other way not as well as the humming getting louder and louder with speed..
