  • 15" wheel help

I have search many of days. I get conflicting facts, theories, truths, etc.

I need to replace the tires on the car and I want to upgrade. I have the Aspire front brakes waiting to go on. I plan on redrilling AC Delco Festiva Hubs.

As of now I am running stock Festiva Suspension. Will coilovers be in the future....more than likely no. I am reading that Aspire fronts struts and reusing the Festiva springs are good as well as Aspire rear struts and Festiva springs. Am I correct on this. If so I plan on going with this.

Now onto the wheel /tire setup. This combo is what I am wanting to go with.
    Wheel AVID AV-02 15x6.5 with +38mm offest and Federal Formoza FD1 165/45/15

With that being said, Am I going to need/do anything special? Will I need to plan on getting studs? Where and what size?

I need all the help I can get on this purchase I am or am not about to make.

If anyone has other recommendations, please speak up, I just want minimal fabrication, cussing, etc. I already do that on my other project.

Great site plenty of info, I just need it narrowed down abit.

    Thanks in advance,

    Chad

If you go with Aspire rear struts, use Monroe's. All the rest are the same for a Festiva and Aspire. I had Gabriel Aspire rear units on mine, they have the same number as those for the Festiva. At least they did when I bought them a couple of yrs ago.
I have studs on both of mine. M12-1.5 50mm long. Use Locktite to keep them in place,Red I believe is the one most people use.
I'm sure others will give their opinion too.

Going with a different wheel after more research. Drag DR-9 wheel with 165/50/15 tire size. Now I just need to buy some studs and tuner lugs. Anyone know the best/cheapest place to buy. Thanks.

I bought mine at a local custom wheel shop. Cost was around $35-40 I believe.

I was running 15x7 with 145/40 r 15 ' s on stock suspension and slammed on coils with no issues also you can do an aspire hub swap to get the 4x100 bolt pattern

Where did you find 145-40-15 tires? Do you have a link?

Sweet. I love my DR-9 wheels. They're on my Escort, though. Good cheap wheel.

Is this the wheel/tire size you described? Did you end up doing any modification to get it to work? Tomorrow is wheel/tire day for me. Probably maybe
