  • Festiva vs Aspire Tie Rod End on Aspire Front Brakes?

Do you really need the Aspire Tie Rod ends when doing the Aspire break swap? I've put the knuckles on and it looks like the stock ones work. Are they different lengths or something and if I got an alignment the ends would be on by three threads ?

Yes use the Aspire rod ends. The taper on the ends between the Festiva and Aspire are different. If you want a cheaper alternative just get the tie rod ends for a 91-96 Ford Escort. Same taper and threads but less than half the price of the Aspire units

yes as paul said you need the aspire ends b/c the tapering is different. However the escort ends work well. I got mine for like $9; aspire ends are around $40+. if your new ends are like 1/8" longer/shorter don't sweat it: i think i have seen at least 4 diff lenghts of aspire/festiva/escort ends and they all work fine (unless their waaay different).

Does it matter what kind of Escort tie rods are used? Is there a difference if it's not a GT?
