      Yes... wounder if one of those is in a museum somewhere?

          Looks like there is a Stout-Scarab alive and well. The first minivan.
          Lots of components are actually built by Ford.

            Note how many of the basic design elements are similar to the original VW Beetle, introduced in 1938. Ford had acquired the Stout Metal Airplane Company in 1925. The company also worked with the Germans until we entered the war in 1941. So it is quite likely that Dr. Porsche knew of the Scarab and incorporated some of its design elements into the Beetle.               The wicker headliner must have been fun to put in. Didn't realize that the vehicle was so big. Neat.
