  • Festiva brake swap with B6t

    I am currently swapping a b6t from a 1992 capri xr2 into my 93 festiva.
I know that the aspire brake swap is common but I was wondering what I need for it. like which tie rod ends to use which control arms whether it be the festivas or the aspires. And does the aspire knuckle work on the festiva.

The main reason I ask is because I didn't know if their was a difference having the b6t in because it has 24 spline
I have been looking around and just can't get the answer I'm looking for
    Any information is greatly appreciated

The e f and g use the same outer spline count . You need festiva lca and aspire outer tie rods . With aspire knuckles complete. FYI auto aspire have 22mm thick disk vs 18mm manual both will work . If you can't find aspire knuckles 01 02 kia rio front knuckles are pretty much the same and are all the larger 22 . I'm running one of each on my car now.

Thanks for the help. I didn't realize that they all had the same outer spline count

You can also use the xr2 brakes... They also have the second outer spline count. They require aspire LCAs to work.

Do you use the xr2 tie rod ends then or aspire or festiva

Research the swap before you go for it. I have done it and as far as I know, the only one who documeted the swap to completion. I know there are others who followed suit, but I don't recall anyone who kept with it aside from me.

The spline count at the hub has nothing to do with the transmission and it varies by car. The first gen 323 uses an F series tranny, and has 24 spline hub, while the second gen 323 also uses an F series tranny but has a 26 spline hub, which is the same as the 2nd gen escort GT, mx3....

Which tranny are you using for the swap?

Do you just have the rio front brakes? Or where you able to fit the rear as well?? Or are you using the aspire rear beam and drums?
