It has been done, But typically there is rubbing issue (unless you were able to find an appropriate sized tire, in the 165/35R17 range).

The tires are 205/40/17. They do not rub unless I hit a good sized bump with the factory struts. I am going to put stiffer struts in. Car handles and drives much better
