94 miata wheels on 89

Hello, Ive checked the swap list posted, but i want to double check before i purchase wheels from a 94 miata they are 14"x6" with a 45mm offset and 100mm bolt circle. The tires are 185/60-14. Is this a direct bolt on? And what kind of problems will i run into if any? THANKS

It's a direct bolt on IF you have done the Aspire brake/suspension swap.
if you haven't they won't fit, if you have, then it fits perfectly, they are even hub centric because the Aspire hubs are Mazda parts.

Check out Mattswab's thread entitled "New tires" here in this forum. He says his 185/60-14s rubbed a little and he was using the older style Miata alloys (5.5" X 14").

The 185/60-14s may be a bit too big, at least on Miata rims. Be careful.

I guess it might depend on your suspension. I have the lowering springs and kyb struts. If I had the stock height springs I would have no problem in the front and in the rear I would have used a 1/8" spacer and been fine. Fred (B6T) uses the 6" rims.

The main thing is have you done the aspire swap.

Matt, you have the FMS Festiva lowering springs, right?

I'm planning on using the FMS Aspire lowering springs on my red '93GL after I do the Aspire suspension/brake swap, and I hope to get approximately stock ride height.

At the moment, it is visibly lower than my '89L, perhaps due to the extra weight of auto and A/C, plus spring fatigue (over 190K miles on it). My '89L stayed at the same ride height after I did the conversion, using Aspire struts and cut Aspire springs (cut 1.5 coils, IIRC).

Yes I have the Festiva springs. If you use the aspire springs you will have more room in the front and should have clearance. You may want to roll the fenders. My buddy has the eastwood fender lip rolling tool and I should have rolled mine prior to painting the car.

The rear will still be close to the spring perch. You may need a spacer to get it away from the perch.

hey you know it may not be too late to roll the fenders, the east wood catalog says that the Mylar wheel on the fender tool won't damage the paint. i need to get mine done but I'm gonna have to make friends with someone that has the tool...can't justify that purchase for a one time use.

If anyone wants to rent the fender lip rolling tool my buddy has talked about renting it. I think he was planning on the renter paying a deposit that is the cost of the tool and when it is returned he would return the money minus the rental fee.
