As I was perfectly drifting past the apex Joey48442 looked at me and yelled "You know, I have never been in a rollover accident before!"... it all went downhill from there.

I have a BP-DE in the garage that I'm trying to convince myself to toss in.
Plus you add my 300 lb arse to that 1600 lb car and it makes for a fun bit of displacement. As I was perfectly drifting past the apex Joey48442 looked at me and yelled "You know, I have never been in a rollover accident before!"... it all went downhill from there.

well i know that weapon*R sells a set for the festy, but they are just the sleave type. i'd just save your money and get the teins if your planning on doing a engine swap or anything....i wouldn't wanna run around at 100+mph on the stock suspension anyway, much less a set of cheap coilovers lol. I'll be getting the teins.Jesus is on my dashboard, But the Devil is under my hood

What kind of setup is that and where would I find it 88festivaGTR? I'm looking to use coilovers as well since I don't have a grand(plus) to spend on Tein suspension components right know. Is that spring weight the rate I'd look for if I wanted a stock ride? I like mine a little more on the stiff side.

I bought those from a guy off this board. wtfman2. or Clinton. They are your basic coilover sleave. People say they are junk. Well, that's just not true. Now...They are not a tien coilover. Not even close. But they are a cheap alternitive. People who have bought these and put them on their car, then say it rides like crap, have too stiff of spring. The adjustability is in the spring. These take a standard coilover spring you can buy anywhere at all different rates. Clinton told me these springs on here are noticeibly stiffer than stock. But not horrible. He also raced on these springs.

Re: any coil overs
One thing to keep in mind, spring rate is determined by these things :
Diameter of coil
Diameter of wire
Number of active coils.
G modulus of rigidity (a material property, which has the least bearing on rate as all spring steel alloys fall in a relative proximity )
Example:
Take a coil spring of 4.0" outer diameter , with 6 active coils and a wire diameter of 0.405 inch, roughly, lets say near a 98 lb-in spring.
Now take same coil spring above and reduce the outer diameter to 3.0".
Just this change raises the spring rate to about 233 lb-in.
The OEM Festiva spring is roughly a 4.15 OD, 0.405 wire diameter, 90 lb-in spring ( seen minor variables, give a take a few lbs, which is expected ).
So I would be willing to bet 88FestivaGTR is starting off in good shape with the rate selection for a street performance car.
People installing 500-600 lb-in rate springs ( stock diameter or or reduced ) on a Festiva have no desire to maintain an effective tire contact patch on the road and will love the chassis fatigue that sets in with any attempt to drive the car on anything but a smooth as glass road surface.Rich Norman

From my experience with the GC coilovers (as I said prior on the EZB) two friends had them on their cars and both of them, while it was great for a nice low look, they hated them for the ride.
As long as it works for you and is safe to use on the streets (Meaning, your car won't lose control and kill someone), have fun with whatever you want to try.
