  • Aspire Swap/Bendix Ceramics/PGPLus

    Hi All,
Been working on getting the front brakes ready to go under the festy.
Got the Bendix CT3 pn/D446CT front pads and the Raybestos PGplus pn/66468 front rotors for MTX. Got the whole strut/knuckle sitting on the bench. Got the calliper fully compressed (no really I do!). New rotor is on.
Problem: I can get the pads in place but they are tight up against the rotor. They go in easy but you could not slide a piece of paper between the pad and the rotor. Anyone running this setup? I see Packrat you are running these rotors. What pads are you using? I dont think they will work this close. The pads seem to be awfull thick. Are there MTX and AXT versions of the PADS? Any suggestions.
    Thanks
    Eric

Depending on which aspire you got the setup off from depends on the thickenss of the rotors.

    ATX have thicker.

Also I have put pads on cars, that looked like they where touching, but infact once they set in place worked great.

There are MTX and ATX calipers and rotors. The pads are all the same.

      Does the rotor spin free?

        Matt,
Can't get them all the way assembled because one of the guide pin holes is too small / mis-shaped. I could drill it but I dont want the parts guy saying I modified it. Going to take them back and look at another set. They might turn freely but its going to be very close. MTX caliper 94 aspire; MTX rotor new. I don't think the aspire I took them off of was an SE but that question kept coming up in the ordering process. What is an aspire SE and could the calipers be different?
        Thanks

Took the pads back. They did not have another set of the bendix to look at. Ended up getting the friction masters. They were about a mm thinner on each side. The went on just fine but they are not the quality of the bendix.
