  • lug bolt size

hey guys, i got some AR Estrella's for my festy and i am going to need longer lug bolts...so my question is for all u guys with custom rims, did u guys change the bolts to lugs? i would prefer longer bolts cuz i would be changing the wheels every winter...and are longer bolts hard to find for the festiva's size?

    thanks

Yes I have studs for my rims. It makes changing tires/rims SOOOOO much easier. Dont forget to get the lug nuts too.

my concern is that the studs will be too long when i want to put the stock wheels back on...thats why i was looking at just getting longs lug bolts, that way i can switch between stock wheels and alloys without worrying....what do u think?

Make them long enough for the thickest wheels. So they stick out a bit with stock rims. I bought the longer studs and then cut them down to the size I needed.

Grind them down if they are too long, but if you are hell bent on studs some older bmw's had studs so do the new mini's. Check them out. How long are you needing them to be?

well, from what i measured, the AR estrella's will need something that is 3/4 - 1 inch longer then the stock bolts. So if i could find something like that, then i could just change the bolts when i put the stock wheels back on every winter

Get these and order from Summit http://www.gorilla-auto.com/products...image=5627.jpg then cut to size and leave them long with the stock wheels.

DO NOT get the 17mm hex lugnuts. I did for the BP car and cannot find a lug wrench to fit. Now I carry a breaker bar and socket. On my BPT I bought the 13/16" hex nut and found a lug wrench in the junkyard.

yeah, i guess i would just have to get two sets of lugnuts, one for the alloys and one for the stocks...hmm, i live in canada though, does summit ship up here? i wonder if goodwrench sells this stuff, i mean they sell rims and tires, i'm guessing that they sell these too...does anybody know?

I've used the same lugnuts on both the stock steel wheels and the alloys. Just depends on the wheel. Not sure if Summit ships to Canada.

Do you really need the spacers ?

I personally would not use them , will they fit OK without them ?

Thanks for the comp on the spoiler

(FMS ) Festiva Motor Sports has them , and every now and then they have them on E-bay .

yeah, i like the spacers on there cuz it makes the car look a little bit wider, also the back tires are really really close to the springs, so i dont want rubbing...i was think of getting one of spoilers at some point, but i'll wait till i need a new paint job, i might just go nuts and put on a whole body kit...lol

Okay, so I am reviving this thread:-) I got my wheel installation kit ahead of the wheels, and I am converting to studs for my B6 with the aspire swap. My acorn is 1 3/8 deep the hub is 1/4 inch? and the rotor is 1/4? Is that right? The wheels I ordered have a 35mm backspacing. Do you think that the 1.75's will work?
