Its still got plenty of dings and the passenger door still doesn't line up but at least all the major damage is fixed.
I'm going to paint it the same teal. It was funny when I took it to the shop the owner was like thats the same color as my truck. He has a 65 ford pickup painted the same color that hes trying to sell.
Good call. I ask because i had actually liked the teal and was hoping you weren't going to stray too far from it! So how long now? - till you get into the booth that is?
No idea how much time but I used 8 pounds of welding wire, 5 tanks of argon/co2, and one tank of argon. Its going to stay the same color but im going to paint the bumpers and wheels the same as the hood (gray).
8 pounds of wire?!?!?!
That thing is now a roll bar with wheels! So much for crumple zones. God forbid you ever wreck, but you should be safe. Just make sure you wear seat belts since a lot of the impact absorption is probably gone. The handling should be greatly improved. Keep up the excellent work. We may have a new standard for Festivas!
Ive been going through alot of stuff over the past months and just haven't felt like working on it. Ive almost put it up for sale a few times but I know ill regret it if I do. Before all this happened I got most of the prep done. All thats left is to sand it all then I can paint it. I went over there for the first time in a month last night to start on it, but the air sander has disapeared so im stuck until I find out who has it.
Of course I found my sander after I almost finish the exterior of the car. All thats left is half the roof, the engine bay, and the interior. So hopefully itll be ready for paint next weekend.
