The silver bracket holds on some plastic piece above it, I realized that after I put it on, that I had it upside down, and I painted it with a chrome spray paint, and then realized, that you don't even see it when it's installed, but, oh well.

    Thanks batstiva!

As for that VC paint job, that stuff stays well. Painted my rocker arm covers on my ranger almost 2 years ago now, and looks as good as it did then, Nice work on it josh, good to see a kid doing work on his own car for once, and you're lucky to have a car like that to call your own

Thanks Fred! But whats up with the '93 green L now!? LOL

Tim- yeah, I have to do basicly everything on this little car, and yes, i consider myself lucky to own it, but I did pay for it myself, so I can say that I didn't leech it off of my parents!

When I got my Festy, the exhaust rode home in the car with me (it rotted off). The flange at the converter was still good (the pipe kind of snapped off), so I had it welded back on. The rear was rotted real bad and, since I needed a muffler, I cut the pipe back to good metal and bought the Cherry Bomb. The thing is long, I cut the pipe another few inches back (it's cut just about to the axle), but it fits perfectly.

so all you did was slipped it over the stock, what is it, 1-1/4", stock exhaust? And welded it on??

                      I'm kind of confused. sorry.

i think he cut the exhaust back (behind the flange) and then sliped the cherry bomb over the stock pipe and welded it up... and i dont think the stock stuff is 1,1/4 inch.. i think its more like 1,3/4 or maby 2 inch...

yeah, the more I think about it, 1 1/4 is too small, that would be stupid. 1 3/4 sounds better. I think I understand how it works now. Thanks for the help.

One question tho... Could I buy a glasspack in 1 3/4, or do I have to get the 2"

                              Josh,
You're young enough to like the Cherry Bomb, but I hate mine. I got the small 12" X 2" and added a dual tip. 2" pipe from the downpipe to the muffler and no cat or resinator. You can hear me coming from two miles away. It will be gone this week. If you want it, I'll send it to you.

Lol... reminds me of the ranger my parents bought a while back, straight piped 3.0L, i test drove it about a mile and a half down the road and back, and dad heard me all the way. Cut a section of the pipe out the next day and put a muffler in.
Seems to me that most people only ever "pipe" one car, and realize how much it bothers them. Did that to my accord, it was always a buzzing noise.

As for a muffler, Josh, If you want some thing that works well, and gives it a decent sound yet, We picked up a tractor muffler at fleet farm and welded it in where the old muffler rotted away, and it works nice. Gives it a little rumble, but no screaming. Bonus is that its for a FORD tractor, and is stamped Ford, so if anyone looks at it, it looks stock.
