  • bobbyspiders bp/g-series project thread and all q's?

ok so im finally going to be putting my bp project together soon im just waiting for maxim to finish the mounts chris will be sending the hydro-to-cable bracket next week and i got my halfshaft last week. i will get som pics up this week.

-alittle background on the cars are:

-i got a escort gt wreck for $400 it came with pacesetter headers on and a mazda miata head installed. also a roll cage that i will use in the festiva. i kept the drivers seat and all the parts that the swap calls for. took a bunch of aftermarket parts off sold them on feoa.net and scrapped the shell. all in all i paid almost nothing for the motor/trans that i kept after selling/scrapping everything so that worked out great.

-the shell for the doner was bought from silv3rbull3t and i got the deal of a life time for that shell. it came with the aspire swap already installed, steel brake lines installed, battery already relocated, break booster upgraded, extended lug studs, aftermarket break disks calipers and pads, 13x8 diamond wheels, momo steering wheel, sparko racing seat, fms full exhaust... and other parts he threw in to the deal. and the great memory of lifting a car with no suspension on to a trailer with a group of irishmen who were working on getting drunk late that friday night it was fun and funny. im irish too (and italian) when i showed up as soon as i steped out of the truck there was a flask of jamison being offered to me for a nip on a cold march night ha ha ha it was great.... anyway back to it. props to silv3rbull3t for the great deal and the fun time.

so i finally got my halfshaft from musclecar_1 he had a shaft and a trany for sale but i didnt need the trany just the shaft so i hooked up with gtk7 (sorry if its the wrong screen name) because he needed the trany so we worked out a deal and presto we both had what we needed. musclecar_1 lives in chicago and it just worked out that my sister who lives in the chicago area was coming down to visit so (awesome sause) i didnt have to pay shipping and neither did gtk7.

......... so anyway thats the story so far and i will get pics up and this will be the thread that i ask all the anoying questions to all of you who have already done all this before but i hope to have fun and make this summer an road track season to never forget. thanks again to all the pioneers of this swap because im not a mechanic and god knows i wouldnt be doing this if you wouldnt have gone before me.

So do you now have 2 cars, the dd and then this project car? What are your plans for the project car, just a project or are you going to compete in it?

yea i have 2 cars now. the b6 with cam car is going to be my dd and the bp car will be my project car im going to be focusing on auto cross/road track for that one ill still drive it some times because i wont be able to resist the urge but the b6 car/motor is reliable and will be my daily. eventually i want to turbo the bp car and play rough at the course with it to show what a festiva is capable of

I really like damkids way of doing it so it can be used later in other applications.

ok still working on the bp swap (sorry i havnt posted any pics) and havent gotten far yet because of having to much to do and some random small things i keep running into (missing nuts and or bolts) but anyway my question is for the front lower motor mount (bushing side) do i use the stock festy one or the egt one? i dont have either so its going to have to be a jy part and i want to get the rite one. -thanks

^ That's the one you have to make. I used an escort one and cut it up. I'm sure someones got some pics.

edit......I went and found a pic. I also sell the spacers to use a stock b3 front engine mount with a gseries.

And I found a pic of my intermediate shaft. I drilled the one hole to bolt it in place then welded 2 nuts to the side of the bracket.
