1991 GL aka; the blue bandit

well, gutted interior today.
also, took intake off and cleanded it, and the throttle body,
soaked injecters, and reinstalled everything.
it crunk right up(with out having to pat gas like before)
and let it idle(perfectly) for a sec. then notice gas shooting up .
turned engine off, and gas was everywhere....

crunk it again, ran around and looked and its leaking from the orings where it goes into
fuel rail.
took it back apart, and they looked ate up, should have replaced them first time.

it has a loud tick(i guess from sitting?) so i thought bout installing whole head off my 89's motor since it needs rebuilt

went to junk yard today

went to jy for a fuel rail, and coil.
got them both, then went looking around for other stuff.

this is what i got,

4 chrome door handles
4 chrome rings and wingow cranks
2 mazda center emblems for stock steering wheel
1 little mazda emblem off a 323
a pair of swoopies( they had 4 other sets, but i was in a rush)
pass. mirrow block off plate
cargo light out a escort
4 map light/dome lights(still in car in bag)

got car running really good now.
only got a driver seat in it.
gonna get tag and stuff tomorrow and
start looking for some one to REDRILL my hubs/rotors to a 4x108 pattern
so i can use my old school rims finally

got me a $25 dollar trans!

went to other side of huntsville ala to get a base plate for a member here,
and came home with a trans for $25 dollars!
the guy i bought it from said he got it a few years ago from
a trans shop.
It came with a fly wheel,pressure plate, and clutch disk, speedo gear housing(with good tab), and the 2 sensors

got motor out

well, its 4:30am and i finally got the motor out.
figured out some interesting things in the process.
first: trans fluid was a quart low(maybe why 1st and 5th acted up?)
second: trans fluid was like water! black bubbly water.
third: the head was clean, and it appears someone replaced it.
fourth: there is 2 rusted through spots on driver side, and
some surface rust( looks like from battery acid) under battery trey.

swapping the motor from my other blue car in it.
will have pix when i am done with the swap.
clutch looked really nice/newer.
should have everything done by lunch( i hope)
then i will be starting on my BP swap finally!

It went in without a hitch and is now helping to haul Georgia's happiest 16 year old around his hometown...he gives you major props!

glad i could help.
tried to part out the rest of car with no luck.
kept headrests,center console, seats, speedo/tac, and emblems.
