Background: In my wifes family, cars get names, my family never did that sort of thing. So after buying this one, my brother in law came up with "The Bomb" after a few days.. because it could blow at any moment.. any way.. bought this car in fall of 09 for $450. PO sprayed primer on it, originally red, i've got bondo on the front quarter panels i need to finish smoothing out (PO again). did not come with a grill, or a spare. i added both, and a full size spare at that. she burns oil and leaks it too, but im working on the leak, burning oil will come a little later on down the road. i've fixed quite a few things that were broken, that could have been left alone, but im trying to make this car a looker..not cash for clunkers..refer to list above for that..
I plan to get pictures tomorrow, when the sun is shining, of the fresh paint.
it should be fine, I've sprayed body paint on engine parts and it holds up... do a few coats of the paint then wet sand and spray clear and it will look almost profesional..
i had a lot of sanding to do on the hatch due to the paint chipping, but i got that done and i had the hatch taped off and ready for paint! then i realize as im knocking on the neighbors door, that they are not home to move their truck in the parking spot next to my car.. and also that it was about to rain/storm.. so i took off the tape and newspaper. draght! ill get them to move the truck first next time.
I found the holes that were bondo'ed over, for the festiva and ford decals on the hatch, but my question is how are they secured? the holes are way too big for the decal pegs.
Sleeper= A car that people would not expect to be fast, looks stock or close to it, or even beat up, but is all about performance not looks.
