Next on the list is intake manifold and carb.......
.
Is that NX bottle going to end up in this car?
Current cars:
1993 Ford Festiva 5-Speed - Festiclese III - Cousin of the Banhammer - "The Jalopnik Car"
1984 Toyota Cressida - 2JZGE Swap, Turbocharged.
2013 Mazda Mazda2 - Exhaust and Wheels (the daily)
2002 Toyota Tundra - V6/Auto/2WD - The Tow Vehicle.
^ No bottle for this car but a different carb is a must. We all know that the worst part of having a carbed Festiva is all the vac lines and misc. crap. Makes the engine compartment look way cluttered. Happened to have a Holly laying around collecting dust so figured why not.........The problem with using this will be hood clearance. Started thinking how to build my intake, had to be low pro but didn't want any low areas where fuel could possible separate and puddle. A sort of TRY-Y design seamed like it might be the ticket. In comes the original intake manifold.......perfect......low......open up the runners and let it breath better......why build when I already have. The problem now is an adapter....necessity is the mother of invention.
Step one: Make something that matches the original intake.
Step two: Make something that matches the Holly.
Step three: Tie the two together in the shortest distance possible.
Step four: Blend them together for smooth air flow.
Festiva: Because even my dog can build a Honda.

So the next order of business is the exhaust manifold. A real good friend of mine ( fellow Festiva owner and member ) made what I think is the coolest mani eevvaarr. With his consent I borrowed his design, switched it up just a little, and ran with it. I cut... fit...tacked..recut..refit..tacked some more until I was happy with it's look and functionality and then let him TIG it up.( I can TIG but Matts awsome at it )
This buddy of mine also has the coolest turbo B3...........If he has a turbo, I need a turbo. So in order to get the boost to the new carb I need a bonnet.
Mocked the bonnet up first with cardboard, then transferred it to aluminum.
Mocked up bonnet..on the new carb.. on the carb addapter..in the bay.. with the new mani.
Next is turbo, intercooler, charge piping, and intake piping.
Sweeetness! Some real nice work there! :thumbright:
