  • Perucho's BP swap

I'm almost all done with my swap! First I want to thank Eurotiva for the help and freebie parts, fastivaB6TG25MR and his roommate for the engine, and mattswabb for the killer BP swap guide.
I still need to have a new exhaust pipe bent from the header collector back, make another engine mount (tilted a bit now), and replace the air filter.
The engine is running great though. Though I start a thread here and show some pictures.

So far the exhaust ends at the header's primaries collector I've only driven it around the block but it feels great. Tomorrow I'll be working on finishing (starting actually) the exhaust system.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Doesn't look like much, but was a bit of work for one person. If I were to do another one, it would go much much smoother The valve cover was painted with VHT high temp wrinkle paint, then the raised lettering sanded and polished.

Do you guys think that 2.5" exhaust pipe would be too much? I was planning on using 2.25" but have access to free 2.5" tubing.

when you got the engine running did you have any problems with it wanting to cut off if you gave it gas? mine idles fine now but it still wont rev up correctly. would the exhaust effect it?

Great job! Looks like a nice, clean installation. Are you running the Festy trans?

I think 2.25" pipe would be ideal, however, if it's FREE, I would use the 2.5". Is it the factory tubular manifold or an aftermarket header?

Yeah, it did! It would start and idle nicely and then, if I touched the gas, it would die. That happened until I noticed that I forgot to plug in the VAF! LOL. No problems after plugging it

I took eurotiva's advise and drilled a new hole on the front mount. That helped tilt the engine forward a couple degrees.
