Spent some "Black Friday" time on the WRX... Bought a set of Morette headlights, Rally Armor mudflaps, and a set of heated seat elements to install.

    Morettes:

The ones I got are unpainted, and there are 3 of them (one he grabbed from a wreck, to use for spare parts or to turn around and sell to make up some of the cost). Not sure how I'm going to have them painted yet... I like the "raccoon eyes" look, but not sure how that would go on my black car. I might just have them all painted black... But I'll probably roll with them unpainted for the winter.

Rally Armor mudflaps are THE mudflap to buy for the WRX.

Mine will have their logo in gray instead of blue, but the same concept.

And then perucho from the board here sold me what was leftover from his heated seat install kit, which has 4 elements (going to put it up front butt and back), switches, and wiring harness to hook it all up. Toasty butt, here we come.

Pics once parts arrive (should all be here early next week) and once installed.

Agreed... I really like the look of the JDM projectors too, but they're cost prohibitive... I got 3 Morettes for $550 shipped. I haven't seen JDMs for under $800 plus shipping.

Plus, I should be able to either part out or sell the 3rd light that came with for at least $200 easily to recoop some of my costs.

Heated seat parts came in today. Now I need some time too to be able to install the parts.

Headlights installed, but pictures sucked because it was too dark (aside from seeing how bright they are). Needs some minor adjustments tomorrow and then ultimately needs some paint to match the rest of the car.

Didn't get a chance to install the flaps yet. Probably tomorrow or sometime this weekend. They are sweet though. Super thick and going to save the sides of the car when I rip around in the dirt and stones.

The hookup kit for my boost gauge should hopefully be in tomorrow so that I can get that working too. It's all wired up and lights properly, just doesn't register boost.

The guy I bought this set off of included a third light for spare parts... It has an HID bulb and ballast with it, from Morette! I'm going to look at converting mine over to HID at some point. I've found kits for $300~ that offer the ballasts, bulbs, wiring, and centering ring needed (for actual good quality components, vs the crappy EBay China kits) that I may pick up sometime. The light from the halogen bulbs alone are 10x better than my stock headlights though.

          Daytime pictures tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the install of my mud flaps. Should be off work at a decent time to get them all done. Hopefully I'll be able to swing it without having to take off the wheels.

Rally Armor mudflaps. These things are really sturdy and they look great.

Also got my boost gauge connected (and then tested of course... )

Ended up selling the Morette headlights and going back to the stockers. I bit the bullet and am going to go with a retrofit setup by one of the board members on NASIOC.

Mine will be a little different than the setup that he's running on his... The paint scheme will be changed and they'll have angel eyes in there too. He's using a set of FX-R projectors, Apollo shroud, 5k HID's, and Morimoto ballast. Plus, they are bi-xenon, so it'll be both high and low beams from this setup (the high beams moves a small cover inside the projector to let more light shine through).

He's hoping to have them done mid-January... So, I'll post some updated pictures after that.

Ended up scraping up the rear passenger mudflap. Backing into a parking space the other day and curbed it... Just a little bit of rash on it, busted out the plastic mounting pieces... So, I put it back together with a regular washer until I can source some plastic ones. I have a feeling they put plastic there so that it doesn't rip apart the mudflap when that happens; which is a smart idea. Although now it looks retarded and like I don't know how to drive, so I'm going to see if I can just buy one to replace it with.

The retros rock... If I could've found a set of JDM projectors for the right price, I would've gone that route... But they want $1000+ for a set, and that's without being converted to LHD.

I can't wait to see the finished project.

                        Retrofit headlights completed and installed!

Details of the build: FX-R Bi-Xenon Projectors, Apollo Shroud (custom painted), Morimoto Ballast and 5k bulbs, Angel eyes, and blacked out housing...

Work was done by DT Light Innovations (www.dtlightinnovations.com - I'm in the process of building him a website too ) - I wonder if he could do a retro on a set of Festiva headlights........ Hmmm!

More pictures, install pictures, etc are here: http://www.pimptiva.com/index.php/ga...g2_itemId=4203

Also finally got the roof rack all pieces together... Yakima Railgrab's with 44" bars, Big Powderhound snowboard rack, and 38" fairing with trimming (and stickers... muhaha)

I'd like to make it less 4x4'ish by lowering it a little bit... But I don't want to make winter driving any worse. And I'll probably look for a set of summer wheels and tires in 17 or 18" and then mount a dedicated set of snow tires on the stockers.

Holy no updates in awhile... Not all that much has changed, but I'll toss some new pics here for fun anyways.

Added the LoadWarrior cargo rack to the top:

My retrofit headlights had to go back to be repaired (thus the stockers). They came back and were reinstalled after this pic.

Heading to camp in the morning for the afternoon and I'll attempt getting some new pictures.

New parts that have gone in/on:
JDM hood scoop - Retains a stock look but sits about 1" higher, slightly more aggressive without overdoing it
                              Hella Supertones
                              JDM foglight covers
2005 STI center console - waiting on a few more parts for this, but... it's almost ready to go in (this includes everything from the arm rest up through the dash/radio surround. It basically gives me 2 nicer cup holders and a hidden cigarette lighter/ash tray... Hah!) - Also on order along with all this is a JDM hazard button switch. The stockers are black, the JDM is red.

Next in line will be wheels/tires for summer and some form of lowering with "saggy butt fixers" so that it looks level.

                              Pics tomorrow.
